A note from the kettle:

For the past 11 years, it has been our honor to be part of your lives. Ian and I started Portland Kettle with a simple hope, that good soup made with care, could bring people together. Thanks to all of you, it did.

It is with a full heart that I share that I will be retiring and Portland Kettle will be closing its doors. Our last day of business will be June 30th. Ian’s passing left a hole nothing can fill, and finishing this chapter without him by my side is bittersweet. But I carry with me eleven years of your faces, your stories and your loyalty. I am endlessly grateful.

On June 29th and 30th, we will be handing out recipes cards for our signature soups, along with a free piece of cornbread. The food that built Portland can keep being made in Portland, in your own kitchens, for years to come. We look forward to welcoming you back in to say goodbye.

Thank you for letting us feed you, body and soul. It has meant everything.

With love and gratitude,
Gayle

Visit us in downtown Portland:

We were pioneers
We were miners & loggers
We were lumberjacks & farmers
We were of hearty stock
We worked hard & we played hard
We built a city from a wilderness
& when we ate, we wanted food that satisfied.

Comfort food.

Food that took hours to prepare
from the game and bounty that was plentiful
in the land we had chosen to settle.
Food prepared from family recipes
as diverse as we were;
German, Polish, Native American,
French, Italian, Russian & everywhere in between.

This is what Portland Kettle now brings
back to the City of Portland.

Experience the food that built Portland.

Cooked in a Kettle, Served in a Bowl.

Enjoy!
